Time does fly by when you're having fun. I have been having fun writing the third book in The Roaring Road series, finding new twists and exploring new turns. There will be a few new characters and some from the earlier books will not appear, having gone on to other things which cannot be divulged at this time. So, you may ask:
Will there be mayhem? Yes. The Roaring Road would not roar without mayhem.
Will Dan and Laure find themselves in trouble yet again? Of course they will. They won't like it because they have so much desire for a normal life especially with the happy ever after part. That may come some day, but not just yet.
Will Raider The Road Trip Dog be back? You're not going to kill him off are you? I'm a dog lover and I will commit to all the dog lovers in the audience that Raider will remain alive and well. Raider will have a bigger role. Raider and Laure will have to stick together and watch each other's back while Dan is off in Hollywood. Well, that's not fair, Dan will be having his share of mayhem following him around too.
Will the Chicago Outfit, North and/or South be part of it? These are revelations that you must read, but OK, this is Prohibition, so what would you expect? As there was in the actual history timeline, there will be changes in mob hierarchy.
Is Pádraigh really dead this time? He's come back to life at least once before. He is a slippery character but a body identified as his was pronounced dead. Since this is not a paranormal historical fiction, how could he return?
Will Laure and Buster renew their hot affair? Buster would like it, but you will have to ask Laure how she feels about that happening. Before the third book appears, I will publish the promised Author's Notes and History Guide, which includes interviews with Laure and Dan, together and separately. I think Laure will leave a hint about her feelings for Buster.
Will the messenger boy return? [silence] If I tell you, the messenger boy will have to kill you.
Will Louise Brooks come in and stir things up? Heh. Anywhere Louise Brooks goes, something gets stirred up and she sure is a kick in the pants to the story line. But if you study Louise's life you will see that her life is changing, and the author does not make adjustments to history.
Automobiles? Aeroplanes? Trains? Any changes in store? Yes indeed. After all, automotive and aviation technology are changing fast. Locomotives are still awaiting the streamliner era.
How does a nice Polish girl like Laure get French first and middle names? I will ask her if she would like to tell the story.
Will Dan and Laure make their movie Road Trip Blues? They have a commitment to Jesse L. Lasky at Famous Players-Lasky (soon to become Paramount Pictures) to make Road Trip Blues.
Will The Roaring Road end as a trilogy? Or does it keep going? How would they do in the Depression, which is only three years away? The current plan is for The Roaring Road to continue, but there are also other books in the works. However I do promise not leave the readers dangling with an unfinished ending.
Anything else you can tell us? Yes, spread the word about the adventures of Dan and Laure and tell your friends to buy The Roaring Road. Don't forget to post a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads.
