The ebooks are available for Kindle or you can get a free download from Amazon of Kindle reader software for your computer. By tomorrow morning (September 3, 2015) The Roaring Road will be available as printed books on Amazon. Woohoo!
It's been a long and winding road, much longer and with more turns than I thought it would be. During the process some things changed from my first vision of the story while the main story line remained true to its original concept. The most interesting change - and one that happened of its own accord as I wrote it - was a change of the leading role from one of my main characters to the other. I didn't even realize it was happening, it was so natural. The first person speaker and narrator in the story is Dan, because the story begins with him. But after Dan meets Laure, things begin to transition until by the end, the story is more centered around Laure. Dan is still the first person speaker and narrator and both of the characters grow from youthful naivety to adults and I think that readers who mostly enjoy the action will also appreciate the changes in the main players.
The decision has been made (by myself and by agreement of Laure and Dan) that in the sequel, Road Trip Blues Laure will be the first person speaker.
Also in progress is The Roaring Road Reader's Companion, which will be primarily available as an ebook. It will contain historical background for people and events and something that has been a lot of fun to write - Author's Interview With Laure. I will attempt to draw out of her some secrets and thoughts she had while traveling down the road with Dan and The Road Trip Dog. Since Laure is very direct and a modern flapper (the 1920s flapper is not a description of a fashion, but a lifestyle and life viewpoint for women) so readers can expect her to tell you what she really thinks. She has already said a few things about the author!
Get and read the books if you like adventure, mayhem and lust. If you have questions or comments, send an email to email@example.com and you might get a place in the Readers Guide. That's why it will be an ebook that I can update with additional new content from time to time. I'll keep the price of the guide as low as I can.
Keep watching the blog for more insight to The Roaring Road and progress notes for Road Trip Blues!
